Itaru Endo

Dr Endo graduated Yokohama City University in 1985. In 2006, he visited Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Research Fellow (Dr Jarnagin & Dr Blumgart). In 2009, he was appointed as the Professor and Chairman of Department of Gastroenterological Surgery of Yokohama City University. Currently, his main fields of interest are surgical treatments in complex hepatobiliary cancers such as perihilar cholangiocarcinoma. Also his research interest has expand to immunological impact of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy on tumor microenvironment. He also dedicates his effort to the editorial works in several international journals, such as JHBPS, Ann Gastroenterol Surg, Ann Surg Oncol and J Gastroint Surg. He is currently dedicated as the President of the Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery.
